On the Road to KiteFest: Top 5 Tips for the Drive

Redcliffe KiteFest is your answer to two days of fun-filled entertainment and jam-packed activities aiming to wow all ages in the family. If you're driving from a distance, here are our top 5 tips to beat the long-distance blues!

1. Set an awesome playlist

Music is a great addition to any family road trip – create a family playlist with all of your favourite travelling tunes. If you’re travelling by public transport, remember to be mindful of those around you and keep the music quiet and in your headphones.

2. Pack some snacks

KiteFest has you covered with heaps of tasty food and drink vendors to appeal to every palette. Long travels can stir up your appetite so make sure to start your day with a yummy, healthy breakfast. It’s also not a bad idea to pack some snacks and water bottles to keep you feeling your best throughout the day.

3.Charge your phone

No one wants a flat battery. Charging your phone goes a long way, especially for long distance trips. You never know when you’ll need to make a phone call, send a text message, or grab a bunch of photos.

4.Give your car a safety check

Before you hop in the car, make sure you check your engine oil level and ensure there are no flat tyres. It’s also a good idea to ensure you have enough water in your radiator. If you aren’t sure how to check the essentials, drop into Village Motors and they’ll check your car for you.

5. Get enough sleep

Tired eyes and a tired mind doesn’t equal to a great day out – especially for children! A good night’s sleep can cure a case of the grumps.

What’s most important for the journey is having the right car on the road. With Village Motors there will always be the perfect car for any family, big or small. Village Motors is your family owned automotive business and authorised Holden, Nissan and Renault Dealer located in North Lakes. Keep a look out for their six-car display on the USC Kite Flying Arena.
