All the colour, fun and excitement of Redcliffe KiteFest will return to the Moreton Bay Region this September, with organisers promising an array of spectacular kites and a program bursting with excitement and entertainment.
Known as one of the biggest family-friendly events on the Moreton Bay social calendar, the two-day spectacular will be held on September 16 and 17 at Clontarf’s Pelican Park.
Tickets to this much-loved event are on sale now, with families being encouraged to book early.
The main attraction of this year’s festival will be the gigantic kites that will take to the skies high above the main arena. They’ll be operated by several international kite flyers from Belgium, Indonesia, Malaysia and New Zealand who are flying in for the event.
Fans of the hit children’s program Cocomelon will also be delighted to see JJ live on the Sesame Lane Main stage, where he will sing and dance along with the crowd during multiple performances.
Mayor Peter Flannery says there is something for everyone, although kids will especially enjoy a huge program of entertainment.
“KiteFest attracts more than 30,000 people across the two days of fun, to enjoy kite making and kite flying as well as food trucks, market stalls, and live stage shows,” Mayor Flannery says.
“Events like this attract visitors to our region, boost local businesses, and provide unique entertainment opportunities for our residents to come together as a community."
Other highlights of Redcliffe KiteFest 2023 include an aerobatics display, roving entertainment, the UniSC Kids Zone, amusement rides, market stalls and food trucks.
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) Founder Shane Newcombe says this year’s event is not to be missed.
“Redcliffe KiteFest is one of the most popular family friendly events in South-East Queensland, and with headline acts like Cocomelon and all the other incredible activities planned, it’s not hard to see why,” Shane says.
“This year’s lineup will take the event to new heights, so even if you have been before, or this is your first time, you are sure to be wowed.”
“Tickets are on sale now and we’re encouraging everyone to book online to save themselves time and money.”
“I also invite everyone who is attending Redcliffe KiteFest to make a weekend of it by extending your stay and exploring more of what the Redcliffe Peninsula has to offer, including our amazing accommodation options, eateries, boutiques, beaches and more.”
Redcliffe KiteFest is organised by MBRIT and Kites Queensland in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council and It's Live! In Queensland, and supported by major sponsors Sesame Lane, Ausbuild and UniSC.
A second headliner will be announced shortly!
